Another yard sale find

yard sale bowls

Our cutest 90-year old neighbor had a yard sale in her backyard this morning…I took over my cup of coffee and bought her set of pyrex bowls (one of my mottos: one can never have too many bowls) that she received as an engagement present in 1937.

Telfer is working most of the weekend so we took advantage of a small window of opportunity and went to see Spider Man 3..showtime started at 10:30 in the morning. We are officially middle-aged. My opinion: a total mess. Telfer’s opinion: loved itl!

I am off tomorrow to a conference in San Jose. Lots of librarian in one place…good times. Bonus: get to spend a day  with Elizabeth in SF/Belmont. Leaving early in the morning so I had better get some sleep.

  1. Those bowls are fantastic! My Great Grandmother had a set similar that my Mother has promised me at some point – they’re really fun and colourful.

  2. What a great find! I’m sure your neighbor lady was pleased to pass them along to a sweet gal such as yourself.

  3. Why can’t I have a cute 90 year old neighbor that has fantastic pyrex bowls…oh wait I have the psycho wiener dogs who think they can compete with Scout (when in reality his head is bigger than their whole body). Save some pyrex bowls for me (I love the ones we got in Boise):->. XOXO
