Thankful

On a scale of one to ten, how gross is it that I put up a picture of my turkey in the brine?

But, I had to, as at least two members (RaChelle & Missy) of Foodie Friends are using the same turkey recipe and a third (Amanda) is coming over to our house for Thanksgiving. I am really, really excited about the fact that friends in Vancouver, Virginia, and California are all making the same recipe.

Telfer is on call part of the weekend, so pray that he doesn’t get called in right as we sit down to eat with Amanda, her parents, and our friend Michael. I hope everyone who reads this blog has a gratitude-filled day tomorrow.

  1. Your picture reminds me of when we cooked Thanksgiving dinner together in CO back in 2001. We called Mom like 25 times! It was so good and we were SO proud of ourselves. I also remember you pulling the “yuckies” out of the turkey! Yuck. I am grateful and thankful for many things…YOU, & the whole rest of my family. Love you!

  2. On a 1-10 grossness scale, I’d say it’s about an 8, what with all the little skin dimples and everything! But the seasonings look wonderful and I’m sure it was yummy! Hope you had a great day and that Telfer was home! I had a wonderful day. I am thankful that yesterday my mom was able to sit up and hold a fork (however tenuously) and feed herself a few bites. She hasn’t been able to do that for many weeks. It was a miracle because hospice had expected her to pass away by now. You go mom! It was a lovely Thanksgiving day. Happy disconnecting!
