Our week can be summarized by 2 things: Garage Apartment & Wedding Programs

Imgp0567Whew. Telfer and I have accomplished a lot this week. I made 200 wedding programs (they still need to be trimmed into a cuter, squarer shape) for my friend Kori’s wedding (I am leaving to catch a plan to Boise in about an hour). The programs are fans as the wedding is outside. I discovered nose hairs really do serve a purpose! I used spray adhesive to stick the two sheets of paper together and created much fumes BUT my nose hairs were all adhesivey – which means I didn’t quite so much adhesive into my lungs – always a good thing.

The apartment needed a lot of basic clean-up, painting (thank you to Jerad Shoemaker) and a kitchen (minor details). We had a plumber help us with the sink and an expert student painter but Telfer did the rest – he is giving Bob Villa a run for his money.

Mom (and anyone else who cares) what do you think?

Diningroom2The dilemma of the dining room wall has been weighing on us (its emptiness that is) – so, in a semi-traumatic chain-of-events (won’t go into it), we have decided on botanical prints (the frames are from PB and the prints are cut out from a used book). We (Telfer – he is scary-good at stuff like this) hung the frames on our picture rail with silk cord…so Mom (we have already had too many conversations about this wall)…what do you think??

Working two jobs

Imgp0518It has been quite the adventure working on the house (and apartment) in my "spare time".  Andrea has done quite the job of documenting our progress and it has been encouraging.  In addition to going "wireless" I successfully completed my first (avert your eyes Robert) amateur electrical project wiring a power outlet and phone jack into a cupboard to get those darn unsightly wires out if sight and mind.  Didn’t even get shocked more than once 🙂  Normal home maintenance has been quite the treat as well which I experienced firsthand when our toilet broke – luckily we had the one out in the apartment (and no renter at the moment) so my fix could take a couple of days…oh joy. A picture’s worth a thousand words right?

We are so wireless

WirelessTelfer and I had quite a weekend – he literally worked all weekend at the hospital (and when he came home too) and I worked around the house doing all sorts of neglected projects (like organizing the linen closet and scrubbing the bathroom floor – my life is glamorous). However, between the two of us (mostly Telfer) we got our wireless up and running last night. This is me checking my email FROM OUR BEDROOM – how cool is that? Our renter (we have a garage apartment) is moving in September 1 and the wireless WORKS OUT THERE TOO! We are just a little excited about this.

Idaho Miscellany

Idaho1Idaho3Idaho4As always, when my little girlfriends and I get together, we do certain things: We go to the NNU Bookstore (t-shirt and bumper sticker purchased). We go to OMC (a coffee shop in Nampa that Telfer and I both worked at – and now Claire works at). We go to the Beanery (cheddar veg and turkey muffaletas). We meet Kathy Burns (the world’s best R.D.) for coffee.
