Harry Potter Homework: We get an F

Apart from reveling in my newly discovered hipness (see below post), Telfer and I are officially naughty and deceitful (to use my mother’s two favorite words).

Since March, we have faithfully followed our Harry Potter homework, dutifully reading our chapter at a time, checking the chapter off the list (well, that was me with the checking), and closing our book when we just wanted to read on… no longer. Let me say that it was Telfer and NOT ME that first hatched this plan (offered up the  proverbial apple) but I quickly agreed and we binged on the last half of Half-Blood Prince. And it was good. Awaiting July 21.

Oh, Mom, close your eyes for this part. Telfer and I love Stephen King’s Pop of King column in Entertainment Weekly. This week he writes about Harry Potter.  We are feeling the sorrow too Uncle Stevie!

  1. oh! i’m almost trepidatious about the new book…i loved this line from the great uncle stevie article–“rereading is a great pleasure, but it’s not the bated-breath, what’s-gonna-happen-next suspense.” i will so miss that feeling…especially since i will inevitably read it so fast i will be holding my breath…
i’m on book five…but i’m hemming and hawing, thinking i should see the new movie before i read the book again. have you seen it?

  2. Now I understand why you wanted me to catch up on reading your blog….Stephen King? Andrea, Andrea…I still like my two words and I think they apply…
