Hipper Crowd of Shushers

So, here I am, drinking my first cup of coffee after running this morning (hi RaChelle!) and I start to peruse the New York Times online.

And what is the most popular article of the day? An article about hip librarians. Makes my day, even MORE than running four miles as soon as I wake up.

  2. Great article, yet the perceptions of librarians and librarianship strikes me funny. Just look at this quote:
“Many young librarians and library professors said that the work is no longer just about books but also about organizing and connecting people with information, including music and movies.”
Um… since when was librarianship “just about books” and not organizing info and connecting people with info? If that is thought to be a “new” part of librarianship, maybe they’ll just never understand!
Still, it’s good to have an article like that highlighting the “techie/hip” stuff…
    Thanks Andrea…

  3. I totally know what you mean Leslie – it is pretty funny that the media is just catching on to the facts we have known forever BUT this article has been good for me to pass on to family and friends that DO NOT get what I do!
